“One of the oldest crafts in Bahrain, basket weaving has been passed down through generations. These crafts spread in areas where palm trees are abundant, such as the villages in the north of Bahrain, the villages of the western coast, and the villages north of Muharraq Island, but widely practiced in Karbabad.
The weaving of the palm tree fronds and shredded branches results in the make of many household items that are used by Bahraini families.
This house now hosts the artisans still practicing basket weaving.”
